As an experienced professional in the audio industry, I have found that my attention to detail is a critical element in having a successful event. One of the many ways I ensure that everything runs smoothly is by visiting the venue of a large scale event on the same day of the week and at the same time of day as the gig will be held. This gives me a better understanding of any potential local transmissions that could have an impact on the gig’s RF requirements and allows me to prepare accordingly. I then take this information and upload it into either Wireless Workbench (WWB6) or Wireless System Manager (WSM) for further coordination. This process of scanning for local transmissions not only gives me a better understanding of the unique RF requirements for each event but also allows me to deliver high-quality productions that exceed the expectations of my clients.

On large-scale productions with back-to-back performances, speed of changeover is critical. At West End Live in Trafalgar Square, I used Shure Axient Digital RF with ShowLink, integrating Bitfocus Companion and a Streamdeck to mute and unmute RF mic packs already on the performers under their costumes — keeping the show seamless and on time.
